Snarkitecture

As you can see above, they think about the whole experience

"Snarkitecture is a collaborative and experimental practice operating in territories between art and architecture"

Whilst working on the New Blood brief, I came across the work of Snarkitecture. Snarkitecture is the  collaboration between Alex Mustonen and Daniel Arsham. Their work investigates the unknown within architecture, using multi disciplines to create both practical objects and amazing spaces, pushing the boundaries of design whilst still containing the element of practicality.

When looking at their work, you get a sense of real passion about what they do. Not designing for the sake of visually appealing pieces but delving deeper into the purpose of the objects and making sure that this is not lost in the design.

Everything that they do is an experience. This makes you engage with their work and fully experience it by making you question the objects and spaces. I feel that this is important in design, as it involves people with your work and from this you can start to look into other aspects of your work and how it will be viewed. Other elements can then be added; touch, smell, sound. How can these affect the design?

After looking at the work that Snarkitecture does it has started to make me think not just about the work that I am creating, but how it is experienced. This has led into many interesting routes and I think it provides a whole new, yet very enjoyable challenge.
