Work Based Learning

Work based learning was the first project back after the summer, and we were straight in at the deep end work wise. This module consisted of four sketchbooks to be completed in four weeks, up to the point of the design going digital and final touches being added. This was a lot more work in one module than I was used to however I was looking forward to the challenge and the increased pace.

Before this project started, I conducted a SWOT analysis based on my current strengths and weaknesses so that I could measure my progress at the end of the module.

Strengths - Being able to conduct in depth research into different subject areas from a range of sources, being able to compile this into sketchbooks where I can produce responses to my findings

Weaknesses - I can sometimes leave things to the last minute, when it comes to deciding on a final idea to run with I can often be indecisive

Opportunities - I have the chance to work on my time management and also the finalising of ideas

Threats - I may get too involved in one project and neglect another, if something comes up in one week it will take time away from that project

As well as the SWOT analysis, I also set myself three targets from this module (something that I am looking to do for all my modules) these were:

- To improve my pace of work
- To better my decision making on final outcomes
- To create a consistent level of work throughout the four sketchbooks
